Uttarakhand crisis: Rawat back as CM, centre approaches Supreme Court

Uttarakhand crisis

Harish Rawat took charge of the office of the chief minister today, after the high court quashed President’s rule. The High court orders came yesterday.

According to a news report, Rawat met his cabinet ministers and discussed water crisis issue.

Meanwhile, the Central government moved to the Supreme Court against the Uttarakhand High Cour verdict, which had quashed President's rule in the state imposed last month.

In yesterday's judgement, the Uttarakhand High Court criticised the move by the centre in strongest terms and observed that Article 356 was used in most blatant manner.
