Robbers rape mother, minor daughter in UP; 15 detained

In an outrageous incident, a woman and her minor daughter were allegedly gang-raped by a group of robbers in Bulandshahr district, Uttar Prasdesh on Friday night. A group of men dragged the woman and her daughter out of their car and allegedly raped them at a nearby field.

Asianet News Reports that the victims were on their way from to Shahjahanpur to Noida with the other family members when their vehicle was stopped by robbers at Dostpur Village on NH-9. The gang overpowered the male members in the vehicle and attacked the women.

According to the complaint, a group of six to eight men took the 35-year-old woman and 14-year-old daughter to a nearby field and allegedly molested them for over three hours. The gang also snatched money, jewellery and mobile phones from them. 

The family members filed a complaint with the police on Saturday. Latest reports say that at least 15 suspects have been detained in connection with the gang-rape. Police said that five in custody were directly involved in the crime.

Under fire, the UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav instructed Principal Secretary, Home  and the state DGP to reach Bulandshahr immediately to monitor the manhunt for the rapists.
