Kollam ship wreck turns into tourist spot, residents troubled

There is something strangely beautiful about rusted decayed shipwrecks which turn them to popular tourist destinations in no time.

People are pouring in from distant places to get click photographs with the vessel. But with high tides on one side and no security measures the site poses threat to the tourists who are busy taking selfies and moving around it.

"We were excited to visit the site, and now we are happy that we got to see the vessel so close," said tourists who were ignorant about the danger.

"Ever since the ship has anchored here we haven't been able to spend a single night peacefully. The thunderous noise shakes the entire house. We feel like the earth is cracking up," said the residents.

Already some part of the shore is washed down by the high-magnitude waves generated by a vessel. Three houses have partially collapsed.
