WhatsApp's new privacy policy will bring these changes to your account; read details
WhatsApp's new privacy policy had been rolled out yesterday; know here what will happen to your account if you don't accept it.
WhatsApp announced its new privacy policy at the very beginning of this year. But recently, the tech giant has scrapped its deadline for its users and stated that they would not delete the account after May 15.
The company said that no one would lose the functionality or lose their accounts on WhatsApp after May 15 if they haven't accepted the policy.
It further mentioned that the company will give time to the users to review the policy and accept it. And they will keep sending reminders to their users.
When you will start receiving these reminders, your functionality will get restricted until you accept the policy. But as the company said, "This will not happen to all users at the same time."
At first, the users will not be able to access the chatbox but can pick up voice and video calls.
The users who will have notification enabled will be able to respond to a text or ring back missed voice or video calls.
After a few weeks of this, users won't even get any notification of incoming voice or video calls, not even text messages. And the account will be useless.
Users who don't want this to accept can export the chat history on their Android or iPhones. This will make their WhatsApp accounts useless, and the company will apply an Inactive account policy.
Deleting WhatsApp accounts can't be reversed as it will erase everything from your account.
