The uncertainty over Mohamed Salah’s future continues to loom as his contract at Liverpool is all set to expire at the end of ongoing season and there has been no official news on Egyptian international’s contract renewal to extend his stay at the Anfield.

Mohamed Salah has been in incredible form in the ongoing season as Liverpool are pursuing the Premier League and Champions League title. The 32-year-old’s performance has been instrumental in The Reds’ title challenge, with the forward consistently scoring goals and providing crucial assists to keep the side in contention on multiple fronts. Despite Salah putting best of his efforts for Liverpool, the club has yet to reach an agreement on contract extension, further fueling speculation that the Egyptian star will be way out of Anfield in June.

In September last year, Mohamed Salah confirmed that the ongoing season would be his last for Liverpool and thereafter, he received several offers from various clubs, Al Hilal, who has been targeting Salah heavily. Earlier, there was a hint of Salah extending his stay at Liverpool after his agent Ramy Abbas lauded Arne Slott’s side for an extraordinary campaign in the Premier League.

When further quizzed about his hopes of leaving his legacy behind at Liverpool, Salah stated that he just wanted the fans to remember him as a player who gave it all for the club over the last eight years.

"I want fans to remember that I gave it all to the fans, I gave it all to the city," Mohamed Salah added.

"I was here, I wasn't lazy, I just enjoyed my football and gave it all. I think that's what the city is about - they give you love and you have a connection with them because you give your all. I just want them to remember that I was here for eight years or whatever - and I gave it all.” he added.

The Egyptian international further stated that he did not take anything for granted over the last eight years with the club, while expressing gratitude to have got an opportunity to play for a top club like Liverpool.

"To be here for eight years is not something I take for granted. Playing at a top club like Liverpool, fighting for every trophy every year, is incredible. I feel like I’m in very good shape and trying to make sure that not only I improve but that the players around me are improving as well."

Mohamed Salah joined Liverpool in 2017 when Jurgen Klopp was the manager and established himself as one of the greatest players for The Red. During his eight-year stint with Liverpool, Salah helped the team clinched several major trophies, including Premier League title in 2020, FA Cup in 2022, EFL Cup in 2022 and 2023, Champions League triumph in 2019, and Club World Cup in 2019. With Mohamed Salah likely to leave Liverpool at the end of the ongoing season, the 32-year-old will look to end his stint at Anfield on high by winning the Premier League and Champions League titles. Liverpool are on the course of winning record-equalling 20th Premier League title as they are currently top of the points table with 67 points, 13 points clear of second-placed Arsenal. In the Champions League, The Reds will resume their quest for the prestigious European title when they take on Paris Saint Germain in round of 16 next month.
