Mahindra is reportedly preparing to revise the price of the Thar SUV. The revised price will come into effect from today. According to reports, the introductory price of the Mahindra Thar SUV, which was launched two months ago, ended last night.
Mahindra is expected to announce the new Thar's prices soon. At present, the ex-showroom price of the vehicle ranges from Rs 9.8 lakh to Rs 13.75 lakh.
Mahindra unveiled the second generation Thar on Independence Day on August 15, 2020. The car, which started booking on October 2 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, has received a good response in the market. Within a month of its launch, it had garnered over 20,000 bookings. All variants of the vehicle were sold out until May 2021
The monthly production of the vehicle is 2000 units. With the increase in bookings, the company has started steps to increase its production capacity to 3,000 from January. Currently the waiting time for this vehicle is up to seven months. Thar is available in two variants, LX and AX, in hard top and soft top versions.
The AX series is a more adventure-oriented version, while the LX series is a more torque-oriented variant. It also comes with a six-speed automatic and manual transmission. The second generation model also incorporates exclusive driver and passenger comfort safety features. Safety features include airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP with rollover prevention, hill hold, hill descent control and a built-in roll cage
The main feature of the Thor's arrival is that it comes with two engine options and more transmissions than the current model. The Thor is powered by Mahindra's Estalion range's 2.0 liter petrol engine and 2.2 mHz diesel engine. It also comes with a six-speed automatic and manual transmission.
The new Thor incorporates a number of unique features in a design reminiscent of old Mahindra Jeeps. It is noteworthy that the new model appeals not only to Thar lovers but also to families who want the amenities and features of a contemporary SUV.
