This Valentine's Day will be all the more special for this 25-year-old R Manigandan and 24-year-old Surega. This man-woman trans couple in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, was, for very long, striving hard to get their marriage registered.

Manigandan and Surega had been trying hard to get their marriage registered ever since they got married on February 14, 2018. Here, it was not the society that opposed the couple, but the law, which proved to be a hurdle when it came to registering their marriage.

With God's grace, the officials from the registration department in Coimbatore recently informed the duo that their marriage would be registered under the Tamil Nadu Registration of Marriages Act, 2009.
