Continuous rains for the last few days have caused damages to the sea dock in Old Digha. The adjoining area was completely submerged due to the tidal wave.
The administration has taken initiative towards fixing damages along the coasts. Dumpers loaded with five boulders were brought to Digha from Baleshwar in Orissa. The accident occurred when the boulder was being unloaded from the dumpers.
Digha Mohana police reached the spot after receiving the news. The dumpers were rescued from the sea with the help of cranes and JCBs.
Presently, in Digha, the tidal waves have been on the rise. A few days ago, high tide was seen on the day of the new moon. Big waves crashed on the coast of the sea.
