Gold in River?

Locals call this stunning river Swarnarekha. The word Swarna means gold, and Rekha means a line or stream. The river stays true to its name and hides tiny gold particles in its sand. You will not find massive gold chunks or solid gold bars here. You will only spot microscopic gold particles that look like fine paper gold. Researchers explain that gold-bearing rocks wear down over time due to the strong river flow. These heavy gold particles separate from the rocks and settle down at the riverbed along with the mud and sand.

How To Filter Gold

Local villagers use traditional filtering methods to separate these tiny gold particles from the river sand. You cannot become a millionaire overnight with this gold, because the river does not produce massive quantities. But you can definitely find small amounts of gold if you search patiently.

Scientists point out that the Singhbhum region in Jharkhand is highly famous for natural gold mineralization. The rocks in this area naturally break down over time, and the water current carries the gold particles straight into the river sand. We feel pretty proud knowing that India has such a magical river carrying real gold in its sand.
