Eight-year-old brutally murdered in north Kolkata; police detains three

An eight-year-old girl was found brutally murdered in an apartment of North Kolkata’s Jorabagan on Thursday (February 4). The girl, a resident of Sovabazar, had gone for a visit to her maternal uncle’s house on Wednesday (February 3).  

<p>The girl was reported to be missing on Wednesday night. Later, her body was found in a terrible state.&nbsp;<br />&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to investigators, the way the girl’s body was found, partially clothed, throat slit, teeth smashed and clumps of her hair torn, suggests that she was raped.</p>

<p>An investigating officer said, “The recovery of a blood-stained knife, four of her teeth, a clump of hair and clear signs of struggle at the murder spot suggests that the girl had put up a fight before she was killed.”<br />&nbsp;</p>
