Lockheed Martin released the first photograph of the aircraft in Indian markings on Friday. Over the past week, Lockheed Martin India had been teasing on its Twitter handle that the MH-60R 'Romeo' for the Indian Navy would be unveiled as part of Navy Day celebrations on December 4.

India has placed a $900 million order for 24 MH-60R helicopters. Aboard the MH-60R, sensor data is integrated into actionable information for the three-member crew. The mission systems compile data from onboard and off board sensors to create an integrated picture that allows the helicopter to identify, locate, track and prosecute threats.

MH-60R is the one of the most capable naval helicopters available today. The new helicopters will give the Indiaability to monitor the seas for the increasing number of Chinese surface ships and submarines, at a time when both countries are engaged in standoff.
