Rekha, Aishwarya Rai's relationship: When Rekha sent Aishwarya letter and wrote, ‘With love, Rekha ma’

It is said that Aishwarya Rai has immense respect for Rekha that she calls the senior artist ‘Rekha Maa’.

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai is very close to Rekha, who is her senior in the film industry. The two actresses have a relationship of mutual respect and love so much that Aishwarya calls the Silsila actress ‘Rekha Maa’.

According to reports, Aishwarya's mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan was not legally happy with their closeness. It was seen clearly during the screening of Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor's movie 102 Not Out.

As reported published in the Deccan Chronicle mentioned, "All this love towards the Bachchan family is very uncomfortable for them. Abhishek and Aishwarya are too polite not to reciprocate. But, Jayaji, who is not known to hide her feelings, makes her discomfort at Rekhaji's PDA quite obvious." When Aishwarya Rai completed 20 years in the Hindi film industry, Rekha had written a beautiful and encouraging letter to the Taal actress. Rekha also said that she most admires her (Aishwarya) as ‘amma to Aaradhya’.

On the work front, Aishwarya Rai will be next seen in Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan. It is said that filming has been done now the post-production is on. In the film, Aishwarya Rai plays the twin roles of Queen Nandini and Mandakini Devi.

Tamil star Chiyaan Vikram plays the part of Aditya Karikalan in the movie. The film also features Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Lal and several other actors. Music of the film is by AR Rahman.

The movie, Ponniyin Selvan is based on a novel of the same title penned by Kalki Krishnamoorthy. The film is about the life of Nandini, who plots the fall of the Chola dynasty. Nandini is the wife of Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar, played by Sarathkumar.
