Padmaavat to Satyaprem Ki Katha: 7 Bollywood Films That Changed Titles Due to Controversy
Salman Khan has renamed his upcoming film ‘Battle of Galwan’, joining a long list of Bollywood movies that changed titles, often due to controversies or marketing reasons. Here’s a look at some notable examples.

Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s film was initially titled ‘Ramleela’. People claimed it hurt religious sentiments, leading to massive protests. Due to legal objections, the makers changed the name to ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela’.

Satyanarayan Ki Katha
The makers also changed the title of Kiara Advani and Kartik Aaryan’s film ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’. It was originally called ‘Satyanarayan Ki Katha’, but the name was changed after a controversy arose over religious sentiments.
Padmavati
Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor’s film ‘Padmaavat’ also faced major controversy over its title. Originally named ‘Padmavati’, the makers changed it after protests from the Karni Sena and other groups, eventually releasing it as ‘Padmaavat’.
Mental Hai Kya
Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao’s film was initially titled ‘Mental Hai Kya’. To be sensitive toward mental health issues, the makers changed the name to ‘Judgementall Hai Kya’.
