Akshay Kumar's 'Mission Paani Waterthon' went wrong: Here's how netizens backlashed the actor

Akshay Kumar and a leading media house collaborated together to take up an initiative, 'Mission Paani Waterthon' which went wrong even if the actor's intention was good.

Every now and then Bollywood actors come up with something or the other to hurt the ordinary people's sentiments, maybe not intentionally but it happens. FAU-G founder Akshay Kumar came up with an initiative Mission Paani Waterthon where he walked over 21 km on a treadmill to understand the village women's plight in walking to fetch water.

Since he shared his view on the initiative on social media platforms, the comparison hasn't been appreciated by the netizens, and they slammed the 'Atrangi Re' actor with harsh comments.

One of the users said, "Complete sham! let @akshaykumar ACTUALLY WALK 21 km in the blazing heat of Rajasthan, Gujarat, UP or Bihar, if he TRULY wants to understand the plight of village women, NOT by just doing his regular workout on the treadmill, just to hoodwink the masses!"

Another one took to his Twitter account and wrote, "Why does Akshay Kumar do such activities only when there is a film of his involved? Thinking face Distributing sanitary pads, walking, Ram Mandir and so on."
 

"With bare foot or nike shoes...What was the room temperature...Under AC or cosy warmth....After having the breakfast and what protein shake he had after treadmill.... that needs to be said too By the way i walk everyday on treadmill...Stop sensationalising the routine things," another user commented.

"Thank god, there wasn't any drive against open defecation," one slammed the actor.

It's not the first time that an actor has been backlashed by the netizens when said or done something insensitive like this.
