India vs England 2020-21, 1st Test: Rishabh Pant to donate match fees to Uttarakhand flood victims

In contrast, he has continued with the same momentum in the ongoing Tests against England, scoring a brilliant 91 in the first innings of the opening Test, in Chennai. Although he was initially inconsistent with his batting, the recent good run has seemingly cemented his spot with Team India.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, Pant expressed his most profound sympathies to the flash flood victims in the Northern Indian state, Uttarakhand. "My sincere condolences and prayers for the families of those affected by the Uttarakhand flash floods. I hope that the rescue operations underway are able to help those in trouble," he wrote on Twitter.

The Nanda Devi Glacier has triggered immense floods in the Chamoli district, disrupting regular life and causing widespread havoc, along with loss of life and property. Along with the Indian Army, the National Disaster Management Authority is conducting rescue operations in the region affected and devasted by the flash flooding.

On the same note, Pant has also decided to donate his match fee from the ongoing Chennai Test to aid relief and rescue operations. "Deeply pained by the loss of life in Uttarakhand. Would like to donate my match fee for the rescue efforts and would urge more people to help out," he added.
