Some also targetted her religious background and said, why is she asking for such a high price when she is not married to a Hindu guy in real life. Now in a recent interview with BollywoodBubble, actress Tappsee Pannu came out to her support and backed the actress up. She brought out the ingrained sexism angle and raised questions about why women are criticised for a hike in their film amounts.

Web portal quoted Taapsee as saying, "If it had been a man in that position, who would have asked for a particular amount, it would have been looked upon like, 'iski market badh gayi hai (his worth has improved)'. Like that guy has achieved big success in life. But because a woman is asking for it, she's called 'difficult', 'too demanding'. It's always like that."

Adding to this, the Pink actress mentioned that such an issue of hiked salary is always with women.

"But why not? She is one of the biggest female superstars we have in the country. If she commands a certain salary for her time, it's her job. Do you think any other mythological characters that men play, do you think they do it for free? I don't think so," Taapsee concluded.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Taapsee is gearing up for releasing her upcoming film Haseen Dillruba, directed by Vinil Mathew. The Netflix movie also stars Vikrant Massey and Harshvardhan Rane in the lead roles.
