Siddharth Malhotra was blown away when he heard the 'chronicles of bravery' of Captain Vikram Batra from his twin brother; that's when he knew he would do equal justice to the film and bring the role of Kargil hero alive on-screen.
Five years ago, Vishal first approached the Bollywood actor intending to play his brother Captain Vikram Batra, the late national hero. He sacrificed his life for his country during the fiercely contested Kargil War between India and Pakistan in 1999.
Sidharth Malhotra showed utmost interest in the storyline, and he was finalised for the role to play Captain Batra. Malhotra shares that he was stunned hearing the stories of Captain Batra from his brother; he wanted to play this character and do justice to it; five years later, Malhotra approached Dharma, and they took him on board.
The team of Shershaah were the first to shoot about Kargil in Kargil. The actor underwent intense drills, practised etiquette, body postures, body language and weaponry training to get into the character's persona.
Sidharth shares that he let the natural wounds, bruises and cuts heal to get the natural feel to the role. When Vishal saw the movie before the release, he was taken aback by Malhotra's hard work and dedication in the film.
Shershaah's trailer has already created a buzz on the internet. The audience is super excited to see the patriotic film ahead on Independence Day. The film will premiere on Amazon Prime on August 12.
