Godfather Box Office Collection: Chiranjeevi, Salman Khan-starrer on the verge of becoming a flop?

FollowA lot of expectations were laid with Chiranjeevi-starrer ‘Godfather’ which also saw Salman Khan in an extended cameo role, marking the South debut of the Bollywood actor. However, the film which was released on the occasion of ‘Dusshera’, is struggling to attract the audience to the theatres and to mark itself safe at the box office.
‘Godfather’ was not released in the Telugu language only; with Salman Khan’s cameo in the movie, it had a Hindi release as well. But the film has not been able to perform as per the expectations in either of the language.
Helmed by Mohan Raja, ‘Godfather’ continues with its downward trend at the box office. On Tuesday, the film's earnings came down to just Rs 2.35 crores, reportedly. With this, the total collection of the film is said to have gone up to Rs 65.56 crore.

As per reports, though Salman Khan has played an extended cameo in the movie, the Bollywood star has not charged a penny for it. This is because Salman shares a very close bond with Chiranjeevi. It was at the behest of Chiranjeevi that Salman immediately agreed to the film. Coming back to the box office collection, looking at the figures of how much the film has been earning, it seems that the film is on the verge of becoming a flop.

Meanwhile, talking about Chiranjeevi’s work front, the Megastar of the Telugu film industry was last seen in ‘Acharya’ in which he shared the screen space with his son, Ram Charan. Chiranjeevi will next be seen in ‘Shankar Dada’, a film that will also reportedly see Nayanthara in an important role. A malasa entertainer, the film is set to release next year.
As for Salman Khan, the actor is presently shooting for his upcoming film ‘Kisi Ka Bhai, Kisi Ki Jaan’, co-starring actor Pooja Hegde. He will also be seen in ‘Tiger 3’ which will be hitting the theatres in early 2023.
