'Friends' actor James Michael Tyler who played Gunther, dies at 59

James Michael Tyler played the role of Gunther, coffee shop manager at Central Perk, where all the Friends would hang out all the time in the sitcom. According to sources, James Michael Tyler died at his home in Los Angeles after battling prostate cancer that he was first diagnosed in 2018. His Friends characters appeared in some 150 episodes across all ten seasons of the 1990's sitcom. James Michael Tyler had also appeared in a number of other roles in series such as Scrubs, Sabrina The Teenage Witch and Modern Music. Warner Bros TV tweeted that it was mourning the loss of "A beloved actor an integral part of our FRIENDS family. Our thoughts are with his family, FRIENDS family.
