Actress Manju Warrier and Nivin Pauly received the Best Actor awards at the second edition of North American Film Awards (NAFA) 2017 held at Bronx Lehman College in New York on July 22.

Earlier, there were reports that Manju would not be attending the award show, as she was reportedly asked by the special investigation team (SIT) probing the actress attack case to avoid a foreign trip.

However, in this two videos, we can see Manju receiving the award on the stage and another she is waving her fans at the airport.

For the ceremony which was held in Chicago, she chooses to wear an off-white saree and for the New York event, she wore a red-golden saree. After receiving the award, the actress said, “I am thankful for the immense support I have been receiving from you people. I have great respect for all the American Malayalis, who have crossed borders to set up a life in a new continent.’’

She shared the stage with actor Nivin Pauly and dedicated her award to late director Rajesh Pillai. “Today, I have received this award for two of my films Vettah and Karinkunnam 6'S. I remember all the people involved with these movies. I dedicate this award to our beloved late Rajesh Pillai.’’

She also added, “I never thought I would reach here today for the show as there were too many problems and stress I am going through. Besides, I have been shooting for Aami, but the producer and director of the movie were kind enough to let me travel all the way to here and take a break from the shooting schedule."

According to reports, Kerala police have asked actress Manju to avoid foreign trips for a week. She was named the second witness in the latest chargesheet filed by the police in the case.
