FollowBollywood actor Arjun Rampal's brother-in-law Amit Gill has been booked allegedly for molesting an air hostess. Amit is married to Rampal's sister Komal and resides at Anand Villa in Santacruz.
According to reports, Amit called the air hostess to his house and spiked her drink before taking obscene pictures. Later, Amit allegedly molested her and threatened to post her nude photos online.
The air hostess, who works with a Gulf-based airline, is said to be Gill's investment client and had given him Rs 18 lakh to invest on her behalf. She broke her mother's fixed deposit and had signed a deed with Amit.
Amit had promised good returns on the amount. However, he later refused to return the principal amount, as well as, an interest of Rs 6 lakh, reported Mumbai Mirror.
In an interview with MM, the air hostess said, "My common friend told me she had invested around Rs 80 lakh with Amit, and he was offering good returns. She advised me to invest with Gill, and said he could help me get the Rs 5 lakh, a friend in Dubai owed me, as he [Amit] knew several people there."
Talking about the obscene images, she said, in August 2016, Amit had invited her home and told her that he was not on talking terms with her friend anymore. When she asked for her money, he offered her a drink that was spiked. Once she was sedated, he allegedly took obscene images of her and also touched her private parts.
It had been more than a year since the victim had kept asking the accused for the money but he did not return it. He then gave her a check that bounced. Later, she threatened him of legal action after which he sent her some of her nude pictures through an application.
Finally, the air hostess approached Santacruz Police Station with an application which was later converted into an FIR. The sections applied against Amit are 328, (causing hurt by means of poison), 354 (sexual harassment), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
Meanwhile, according to India Today, Amit is not new to controversy and was earlier arrested for allegedly betting money on the India vs Sri Lanka cricket series in 2017. His name had come up when the Mumbai Crime Branch busted a betting racket in Andheri.
