Akshay Kumar will play the lead role of Major General Ian Cardozo, the war hero of the Gorkha regiment of the Indian Army. Akshay Kumar took to his social media account and shared the news about his upcoming movie with his fans. The actor will be seen essaying the lead in the film. It is directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan and produced by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma.

Akshay Kumar will be seen as portraying Major General Ian Cardozo in Gorakh. He is a former Indian Army Officer who headed a battalion and a brigade besides being disabled. Besides Gorakh, Akshay Kumar will be seen in Sooryavanshi that will release on November 5 in theatres. He also has Bachchan Pandey and Ram Setu, Prithiviraj, Atrangi Re in his kitty. Akshay Kumar is known for giving back to back films. The actor was last seen in Bell Bottom. It was a spy drama that received decent reviews from critics and fans.
