Mumbai: While B-town has many talented actors, actress Sanya Malhotra has found success by being versatile in her craft. She selects a wide variety of roles and every character brings out a new shade of her.

Hailed as the director’s actor, Sanya brings dedication and focus to her roles. Surprisingly, all characters that she has played so far have been empowering and inspiring. Sharing her thoughts on the same in a recent interview for a leading magazine, she said “When I select a script, I make sure that the character I’m playing is empowering me and at the same being an inspiration to many young girls who are watching me. We’ve all grown up watching female characters that we couldn’t relate to, the damsels in distress who could never fight their own battles. While, on the contrary, sharing an experience from real life I’ve seen my mother fight her own battles and emerge as a winner. Thankfully, the times are changing, we are working with quality and relatable content and producers are producing films that have strong female voices.”

Speaking about her versatility, she shared, “I want to show as much versatility possible and impress audiences with challenging roles.” Sanya dedicates herself to her roles completely and that highlights her onscreen presence that works with the audiences. Testimony to the same is her portrayal as Anupama Banerjee in Shakuntala Devi, where she was convincing in her journey of emotions, and she won many accolades for it.

On the work front, Sanya will next be seen in Anurag Basu’s directorial Ludo and Umesh Bisht’s Pagglait.
