After the movie, KGF - Chapter 1 premiered abroad on December 20, 2018, the film was released in Kannada (with dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam languages) the following day in India. This apart, there are other Kannada movies that have made Sandalwood proud in 2018.

As 2018 reaches its fag end, here is a list of Kannada movies which became the talk of the town this year.

 

1. Aa Karaala Ratri: This movie released on July 19. It is a suspense thriller film directed by Dayal Padmanabhan and produced under D Pictures banner. The movie is based on a Kannada play by Mohan Habbu, which was based on the Russian story titled The Return of the Soldier. 

2. KGF - Chapter 1:  This action film was released December 21. It was written and directed by Prashanth Neel, and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale films. It is the first sequence in the two-part series, followed by KGF: Chapter 2. IMDb reports show that KGF - Chapter 1 received 9.1/10 stars.

3. Ambi Ning Vayassaytho: This film features Ambareesh and Sudeep where Sudeep is seen playing the role of a young Ambareesh. This movie was the last acting assignment of Ambareesh before his demise. The film released on September 27, and IMDb gave it 8/10 stars.

4. 8MM Bullet: This Kannada movie is a crime thriller written and directed by Harikrishna and jointly produced by Narayan Swamy, Infant Pradeep and Saleem Shah. Judah Sandy composed the music for this movie. For the first time, Jaggesh played an atypical role in this movie.  IMDb gave this movie 8.6/10 stars.

5. Tagaru:  This movie starring Shiva Rajkumar, Bhavana and Manvitha in the lead roles along with Dhananjay and N Vasishtan released on February 23 and was directed by Duniya Soori and produced by KP Srikanth.
