Indian skipper, Virat Kohli is now a proud father, along with his Bollywood wife, Anushka Sharma. The couple had their first child born on January 11, which happened to be a baby girl.

While Kohli announced the same on his social media handles, along with Anushka, they did not share the newbie’s picture. Meanwhile, they also requested media outlets to refrain from doing the same.

“We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon. We thank you all for your love, prayers and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy, and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Love, Virat,” Kohli had written on his social media.

“Hi, Thank you for all the love that you have given us for all these years. We are happy to celebrate this momentous occasion with you. As parents, we have a simple request to make to you. We want to protect the privacy of our child and we need your help and support,” the couple had urged to the paparazzi.

“While we will always ensure that you get all the content you need featuring us, we would request you to kindly not take or carry any content that has our child. We know that you will understand where we are coming from and we thank you for the same,” they added.

Meanwhile, the couple was recently spotted for the first time, following the birth of their child. In a video, shared by Viralbhayani on Instagram, they were at a doctor’s clinic in Mumbai. While Anushka was seen wearing blue denim and jeans, Kohli donned a black shirt and trousers, besides having their masks on.

In the meantime, Team India has retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia, as Ajinkya Rahane was the stand-in skipper. The side had won it Down Under, during their last visit, in 2018-19, under Kohli’s leadership.
