Team India players including swashbuckling hitter Rohit Sharma, Rishab Pant, Shubman Gill, Prithvi Shaw and pacer Navdeep Saini have come under sharp attack after a tweet from a fan saying he paid their bill went viral.

It is not the generous nature of the fan and the picture of the bill that got attention but the content in it.

Navaldeep Singh, a fan who claimed that he spotted his favorite Indian cricket stars at Chadstone Shopping Centre in Melbourne, claimed that he footed the bill. And took to twitter and wrote, “least I can do for my superstars”

More than the bill amount $118.69, the steamed pork, stir fried beef and beef sauce
is what has caught the attention of netizens.

Soon after his tweet went viral, a backlash erupted, following which the fan backtracked his statement of hugging one of the cricketers after they learnt about his payment and also issued an apology.

But his tweet had already done the damage as many are questioning Sharma's message on Holi and Diwali of being soft to animals. And terming him as a person with double standards.

The tweet has come at a time when BJP in many states is making consumption of beef an issue and also has banned slaughter of cows in many of the states where it is ruling.

Meanwhile, as per reports, Cricket Australia (CA) has kept all the five Indian players including Rohit Sharma, Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill, Navdeep Saini, and Rishabh Pant under isolation.

Both BCCI and CA are investigating the matter of outing and checking whether it's a breach of protocol during a pandemic.
