Winning by massive 57 runs, MI are now in the final, while DC will clash with the winner of the Eliminator match, in Qualifier 2, in Abu Dhabi.
MI dominated all throughout the match in Dubai on Thursday. With an unlikely start, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan consolidated well in the middle. The contribution of Hardik Pandya with the bat during the death drove MI to a high total of 200 runs on the board. As far as the DC bowlers were concerned, it was Ravichandran Ashwin who managed to ball well from their side.
In the second innings, MI led again, but with the ball this time. All the bowlers had a good day with the ball, except MI leggie Rahul Chahar, who leaked 35 runs in his two overs, and that too without a wicket. Even though MI won by a big margin and even secured a place in the finals, the young spinner was disappointed with his performance.
It was then Rohit caught an eye of this young gun and cheered him up. He asked him to lead the MI side, as they were to fist pumps with DC boys.
MI, who have been excellent throughout the tournament, will meet the winner of the Qualifier 2 in the finals. The final of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be held in Dubai on November 10.
