IPL 2019: RCB players gift jersey to Pillsbury mascot Doughboy in Bengaluru
"We saw great team spirit on and off the field and hope to continue with this growth and achieve great heights,” Sanjeev Churiwala, chairman of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), said while praising the Virat Kohli-led team. RCB failed to qualify for the playoffs in IPL 2019
Bengaluru: Pillsbury, the principal sponsor of the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), on Thursday (May 2), organised a memorable meet in Bengaluru with some key players of the franchise.
Addressing the gathering, Sundeep Waghray, head retail sales, General Mills India, gave a motivating talk sharing with the audience the whats and hows of their massive success and stupendous outreach leaving the crowd in awe.
The event was organised to recognise the top performing distribution channel and retail partners of General Mills who were felicitated with awards by the RCB players. Pillsbury is one of the most popular brands of General Mills.
RCB captain Virat Kohli along with star players AB de Villiers, Parthiv Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal were present at the event and were seen interacting with the audience. The players also gifted a signed jersey to Pillsbury’s very own Doughboy, along with the Cookie Cake pack shot.
On this occasion, managing director of General Mills India and South East Asia, Salil Murthy, said, "Pillsbury Cookie Cake is an all-family snack that has revolutionized the premium cookie category with its multi-textured, highly indulgent soft baked format. It is loved by kids and adults alike, much like IPL, the biggest entertainment property in India. Our new campaign builds off this insight in a fun way that makes an instant connection with fans all over the country. We are happy with our association with RCB this year.”
Earlier this year, Pillsbury Cookie Cake had announced their association with RCB, and initiated an exciting, path-breaking advertisement campaign that enabled multiple Tier one and two cities to consistently cheer for the team they love and a snack they adore.
Sanjeev Churiwala, chairman of RCB, said, “We are so glad to have Pillsbury on board with us as our principal sponsor, they have been with us in this journey of ups-and-downs. We saw great team spirit on and off the field and hope to continue with this growth and achieve great heights.”
RCB, who are already out of contention for a playoffs berth in IPL 2019, will wrap up their season with a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday (May 4).
