IPL 2019: Dale Steyn joins RCB, to replace Nathan Coulter-Nile
Dale Steyn will replace Nathan Coulter-Nile and will be playing in IPL after a gap of two years.
Bengaluru: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) put out a Tweet 'Welcome' on its official Twitter handle. However, no explanation was given on whom the team is welcoming to change the course for the Bengaluru side after suffering six straight defeats this IPL season.
But now the latest reports have stated that RCB has signed Dale Steyn and that he will be joining the team soon.
The tagline of the Twitter goes, "Long time, no see. Welcome back."
Rumours that Dale Steyn of South Africa will play in RCB soon has turned out to be true. Steyn will replace Nathan Coulter-Nile who has opted out of the tourney due to back injury. Will Steyn help RCB break its spell of continuous losses, may be fans will have to wait until tomorrow.
RCB will take on Kings XI Punjab tomorrow (April 13) at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium.
Dale Steyn was part of the RCB squad from 2008 to 2010. He was brought in by Deccan Chargers in 2011. He later represented Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Lions in 2016.
Steyn remained unsold in the recent auction but will now represent RCB and play in IPL after a gap of two years.
RCB is under pressure to win all eight matches remaining if they need to stand a chance of making it to the playoffs.
