Team India is gearing up for another exhausting four-Test series, this time at home, against England, as the former defends the Anthony de Mello Trophy. While India is coming off an impressive win in Australia, retaining the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, England registered a 2-0 clean sweep in Sri Lanka.

It would be the first international series in India, in the pandemic era. The series is being conducted under a strict and safe environment. As per the protocols, both the sides have completed their mandatory quarantine in the bio-bubble. Meanwhile, Team India has hit training mode from Monday.

On Monday evening, the teams indulged in a light training session, which saw them participating in a footvolley game, divided into two sections of Team Nick Webb (Head Strength and Conditioning Coach) and Team Soham Desai (Strength and Conditioning Coach).

"The plan was, basically, just to get the guys out since they were stuck in their room for six days. They were limited to treadmills and bars for the last three days. So, it was essential to get everyone out, into the ground, and get some fresh air, and get the boys moving," said Webb.

"The guys who came from Australia could only spend three-four days at home. So, we did not want to stress them. Basically, they have had no physical preparations, per se. This is something we need to do, so this is an additional day we got to ease them into training," added Desai.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the team got into the proper training mode. Head coach, Ravi Shastri, was involved in an intense pep-talk with the side, which was seemingly done to boost the squad. Furthermore, skipper Virat Kohli, too, addressed the side, before the team began its intensive training session.
