Gautam Gambhir goes into self-isolation following COVID positive case at home

Former Indian player Gautam Gambhir isolates himself as one of the members in his home tested positive for coronavirus. He is awaiting his test reports. Gambhir is not involved in any cricketing duties of late, as he his pursuing politics as his full-time career now.

Cricketer turned politician, Gautam Gambhir is in self-isolation after a member in his home has tested positive for coronavirus. Gambhir has got his test done but is waiting for the report to come. 

The former Indian opener, who is often remembered for his winning knock in the 2011 ICC World Cup is currently a Lok Sabha MP from East Delhi. He had featured for the Men in Blue in 58 Tests, 147 ODIs and 37 T20 Internationals.

Gambhir, who retired from all cricketing formats in 2018, joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2019, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. 

On Friday morning, he tweeted, “Due to a case at home, I have been in isolation awaiting my COVID test result. Urge everyone to follow all guidelines & not take this lightly. Stay safe!”

Gambhir also urges people to stay safe, as Delhi recorded a spike of 6,700 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday, recording the highest increase in around four months.
