India is currently locked 1-1 with Australia in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Down Under. KL Rahul did not feature in the first two Tests and was in contention for the third Test in Sydney. He is the man in form, especially in the limited-overs circuit.
Team India has been inflicted with yet another setback. Wicketkeeper-batsman, KL Rahul has been ruled out of the remainder of Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. He has suffered a wrist sprain.
According to a release from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Rahul sprained his wrist during a nets practice session at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Saturday. It would take him around three weeks to recover, thus effectively ruling him out of the remaining two Tests, as he would now fly back to India and rehabilitate at Bengaluru's National Cricket Academy (NCA).
The BCCI has not yet announced his replacement but would do so in the coming days. Meanwhile, the rest of the team has flown to Sydney for the third Test, to be played from Thursday.

Rahul's injury happens to be the third injury setback for Team India in the ongoing Tests. Seamer, Mohammed Shami was ruled out after he fractured his wrist while batting in the opening day-night Adelaide Test, followed by pacer Umesh Yadav, who injured his calf muscle in the following Boxing Day MCG Test.
Amidst all the injuries, India does have a good news piece, as senior opener Rohit Sharma is back in the side. He had missed out of the tour so far as he was recovering from a hamstring strain, he suffered during the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL).
The four-Test series is currently locked 1-1. India is the defending champion of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, having won the title at its previous visit, in 2018-19.
