The very first banner for the upcoming biopic ‘800’ was revealed. Directed by M.S. Sripathy, Vijay Sethupathi was seen as cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan.

In order to exchange the recent developments on this biopic, the Kollywood actor and the veteran Sri Lanka player, Muttiah Muralitharan, connected with each other on a virtual chat, ahead of releasing the first look in the poster. Muttiah Muralitharan is currently busy owing to the Indian Premier League (IPL) commitments, where he is coaching Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Produced by Movie Train Motion Picture & Dar Pictures, with composer Sam CS and cinematographer RD Rajasekar, 800 is a fast-paced and funny biopic. The biopic will depict the journey of one of the most brilliant players and will be shot in Sri Lanka, U.K, Australia, and India. As per plans, the shooting will start at the beginning of 2021 and will hit the theatres towards the end of the same year.

Primarily the movie will be made in the Tamil language, but will also be dubbed in all South Indian languages, Hindi, Bengali, and Sinhalese, in order to reach out to a wider audience. Talks are hovering to publish an International version, with English subtitles as well.

This is not the first time that a biopic/movie has been carved out on cricketer’s life story. Time and then we have witnessed many movies like ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’, ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’. Another movie on the legendary Kapil Dev, whose poster was out a few months back, is awaited to hit the theaters when situations get normal.
