Skoda has revealed that the Kushaq SU has received 10,000 reservations in India just a few months after its debut. The Skoda Kushaq debuted as a concept at the 2020 Auto Show, and the company has been teasing the commercial version of the SUV ever since. In the Indian market, the Kushaq will now fight against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Tata Harrier, and MG Hector.

The Skoda Kushaq carries a lot of weight since it is the vehicle that will launch Volkswagen Group's all-out assault on the Indian market, with Skoda at the helm. The Kushaq will be offered in three variants: Active, Ambition, and Style, and will be built on the significantly localised MQB A0 IN platform. The Kushaq is available with two petrol engines: a 1.5-litre TSI and a 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine. Both engines are equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 1.0-litre TSI engine has a 6-speed torque converter transmission, whilst the 1.5-litre TSI engine has a 7-speed DSG gearbox.

According to the manufacturer, the Skoda Kushaq comes with a 4-year/150,000-kilometer guarantee that may be extended to 6-year/150,000-kilometer warranty. Skoda will also provide a two-year components guarantee, a two-year battery warranty, a three-year paint warranty, a six-year corrosion warranty, and a nine-year extended roadside support package.
Skoda announced an almost fourfold increase in sales in August 2021, with 3,829 units sold. Skoda Auto India said in a statement that the firm sold 1,003 vehicles in the same month last year. While the recently introduced SUV Kushaq has propelled the brand's development in India, other models including as the Superb, Octavia, and Rapid have also contributed to the increase in sales volumes, according to the company.
