According to media reports, the feature would essentially allow Gmail users to call another Gmail client in a manner comparable to phone conversations and attend Google Meet sessions straight from the app.

Google Meet will allegedly have the option to "ring" another Google user — but only within the Gmail mobile app, not the Meet app. According to media reports, the feature would essentially allow Gmail users to call another Gmail client in a manner comparable to phone conversations and attend Google Meet sessions straight from the app. According to the source, the standalone Meet app will have the same capacity to conduct calls and arrange group meetings in the future. Exact specifics on the availability of the calling capability via Gmail remain unknown, and the business has yet to provide more information.

Google looks to intend to make Gmail the major centre for all other online services such as Doc, Meet, Google Chat, and others. According to reports, the web client will be redesigned to incorporate all of these features.

In terms of design, a screenshot from the study displays Google Workspace programmes such as Drive, Calendar, Notes, and even Call on the right side of the screen, with the Google Chats tab right next to it.

On the left, we can see 'spaces' instead of rooms beside the Meet, Chat, and Mail buttons. Google states in a blog post that "any user who has enabled Chat in their Gmail settings will begin to see the word 'Rooms' automatically changed to 'Spaces.'" Teams may use Spaces to exchange ideas, collaborate on documents, and manage projects all in one location. Google adds that the firm will upgrade Spaces in the next months with additional features such as in-line topic threading, discoverable spaces, and better user roles and moderation.

However, adding more functionality to Gmail may result in a crowded design. According to the article, Gmail users will be able to hide the tabs they don't use. The revamp will be available to corporate customers first in the coming weeks, followed by normal Gmail users afterwards. Meanwhile, Google Calendar now allows you to RSVP to a meeting invitation by specifying your location. Google had already introduced significant features, such as operating Google Workspace apps straight from Gmail. For example, the firm previously made it easier for customers to access Drive files straight from Gmail.
