Wikipedia is now a repository of establishment propaganda, Larry Sanger said.

Wikipedia's co-founder Larry Sanger has warned that the web portal was now just a 'propaganda' for the Left-leaning 'establishment' and can no longer be trusted.

Wikipedia is the world's fifth-largest website which attracts an estimated 6.1 billion users. The website provides information on almost any topic.

Interacting with Freddie Sayers from the online magazine UnHerd, Sanger said that the website he created had lost its neutrality in recent years.

Instead, he said, Wikipedia is now a repository of establishment propaganda.

"Can you trust Wikipedia always to give you the truth? It depends on what you think the truth is," Sanger, who left the site in 2002, said.

"You can't cite the Daily Mail or Fox News on socio-political issues."

On today's , Wikipedia co-founder claims that the website's Left-wing bias is so strong that publications like the Daily Mail and Fox are "banned".

Sanger told Unherd, "You cannot cite the Daily Mail or Fox News. It is banned. It means that if a controversy will not appear on Wikipedia if it does not appear in the mainstream centre-Left media, then ."

He even cited the Wikipedia page on United States President Joe Biden as an example of the leftist bias.

"The Biden article has very little by way of the concerns that Republicans have had about him. If you want to have anything remotely resembling the Republican point of view about Biden, you are not going to get it from the article."

This is not the first time that Sanger has raise doubts about Wikipedia's neutrality.

Last year, he said in a blog post that Wikipedia no longer has an effective neutrality policy and clearly favours left-leaning politics.

During the Unherd interview, Sanger also slammed Wikipedia's coverage of the Coronavirus pandemic as being very biased.

He said that the platform just reproduces the view of the World Health Organisation, the World Economic Council or World Economic Forum, the US CDC and various other establishment mouthpieces like Dr Anthony Fauci.

Sanger said that Eastern medicine is referred to as quackery on Wikipedia in judgmental and dismissive language. He claimed that a very big, nasty, complex game is being played behind the scenes to make articles say what somebody wants them to say.
