Coronavirus: India reports 45,951 new cases, recovery rate improves to 96.92%

The active cases further declined to 5,37,064 comprising 1.77% of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has improved to 96.92%.
 

India reported 45,951 cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in the last 24 hours, taking the country's cumulative Covid-19 infection tally to 30,362,848, the Union ministry of health and family welfare's (MoHFW) dashboard, updated at 8 am on Wednesday, showed.

The total Covid death count is inching closer to the 4-lakh mark. The country recorded 817 fresh fatalities in last 24 hours, taking the total death toll count to 3,98,454.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 2,94,27,330 and the case fatality rate stands at 1.31%, the data stated.
