Not every plant enjoys the rainy season. In fact, for some, the monsoon can be deadly. Here's a look at plants you should avoid planting or leaving out in the rain, why their roots rot, and some simple gardening tips to keep them safe.

Succulents

The monsoon is great for gardening, but some plants just don't like all that moisture. Succulents are a prime example. If they get too much water, their roots can rot, and they might even get a fungal infection. So, if you're thinking of monsoon gardening, don't plant these. Keep your succulents, like Jade Plants and Echeverias, away from the balcony during the rains, as water collecting in the pot can kill them quickly.

Cactus

A cactus plant is super easy to grow, but it thrives in dry places with less water. Constant rain and soggy soil can make the plant rot. If you've kept your cactus on the balcony until now, it's a good idea to bring it inside during the monsoon. It's best to avoid leaving it out in the open.

Rosemary Plant

Aloe Vera Plant
