'Boy from Hanoi': US ambassador's Lunar New Year rap song goes viral

The United States Ambassador to Vietnam Dan Kritenbrink has recorded a rap song to wish everyone in the country a very happy Lunar New year.

Ambassador Kritenbrink is widely regarded as the person who has taken US-Vietnam relations to new heights considering the grim history behind them.

"I'm from Nebraska, I'm not a big-city boy / Then three years ago, I moved to Hanoi... " the rap song by Ambassador Kritenbrink, who will soon depart from Vietnam, is a hit on social media. 

The video has been shared over 4000 times on the US Embassy in Hanoi Facebook page.

The US ambassador's soft diplomacy seeks to send out a message on the most important annual holiday for Vietnam that his Washington, DC and Hanoi are trusted partners who would prosper together.
