The CEO of Cradle Fund, Nazrin Hassan died after one of the two phones kept for charging on his bedside exploded.

The 45-year-old Nazrin is said to have gone ahead with the charging of the two phones before going to sleep. One Blackberry and Huawei phone were kept on charging. When Nazrin was in deep sleep, one of the phone blasted and smoke filled the room, resulting in his death.

An official statement by the Cradle Fund states that according to post-mortem report, "The post-mortem report concluded the cause of death as being complication of blast injuries attributable to an exploding hand phone that was being charged next to him," reported NDTV.

Cradle Fund is a government of Malaysia owned company, which comes under the Ministry of Finance. This company provides funds to technical start-ups.

There are also speculations that Nazrin died after the mattress caught fire following the mobile blast. But so far it has not been ascertained which mobile caused the blast.

Nazrin has left behind wife and three children.
