Indian sprinter Dutee Chand has come out in support of Algerian boxer Imane Khelif amid her controversial bout against Italian pugilist Angela Carini in the pre-quarterfinals of the women's 60kg category at the Paris Olympics 2024 on Thursday (August 1).

India's dream for a medal in the track event of athletics in the Tokyo Olympics has taken a hit after top sprinter Dutee Chand finished seventh in her heat, failing to qualify for the semis of the 200m event.
The Indians did not have a great outing in athletics either, failing to qualify for the semis of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. While Dutee Chand could not make the cut in the 100m race, MP Jabir could not do the same in the 400m hurdles.
