- The match between Barca and Real ended in a 1-1 draw on Saturday.
- Sergio Ramos netted an equaliser for Real in the 90th minute.
- Real remains 6 points clear of Barca on the top.
Just when FC Barcelona thought the match was in their bag, Ramos netted an equaliser in the 90th minute to secure a 1-1 draw at Camp Nou Stadium on Saturday.
With this draw, Barcelona are six points away from the La Liga 2016-17 table toppers, Real.
“(Ramos) always shows up for games like this one,” Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane said.
“He never gives up. That is what Sergio brings," he added.
Just after the first half, Luis Suarez put the home team up 1-0 with an elegant header off Neymar's free kick. The Spain defender headed Luka Modric’s free kick past Barca goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who got a hand on the ball but couldn’t keep it out.
In Ramos' 12 seasons with Real, he has had numerous last minutes heroics, not to forget his header in the 2014 Champions League final that had forced added time. It was Real who had lifted the trophy at the end, by beating Atletico Madrid on penalties.
