Lionel Messi is now officially a Paris Saint-Germain player. Having signed on Tuesday, he was unveiled to the fans in Paris on Wednesday, as the fans went crazy, besides its fan-following increasing.
FollowLast week, Argentine superstar Lionel Messi made headlines when he decided to end his 21-year-long career with Spanish giant Barcelona. However, he made an even bigger headline when he decided to join French giant Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.
It was Messi’s first-ever club transfer as a senior player. Consequently, it made PSG fans go crazy, while some of the loyal Messi fans also switched their loyalties to PSG, thereby increasing PSG’s fan-following.
Meanwhile, Messi was unveiled to the PSG fans on Wednesday as part of the custom and tradition. The moment he was revealed, fans went crazy outside the Parc des Princes stadium while he waved at the fans with a massive smile on his face.
Earlier, in a video shared by PSG, Messi was scrolling through Instagram on his phone as he clicked the follow button.

During his first PSG press conference, Messi said, “I am pleased to be here. The last few days have been filled with emotion because it is difficult to leave after so many years in a club. But, I’m delighted to be in Paris. I can’t wait to start training. I want to thank President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Leonardo, and everyone for the incredible welcome. I can’t wait to meet my new teammates and staff and start working.”
“It was great to see all these people who waited a long time and who welcomed me here. While everything was not settled, the supporters were already waiting for me, and I am very grateful. I am very touched by this welcome of the fans, the President and the whole club. I am living a new stage in my life with my family, and we are thrilled to take up this challenge that awaits us in Paris,” he added.
However, Messi made it clear that he is here in Paris to help PSG crown UEFA Champions League glory. “The Champions League is a tough competition to win. You can be the best team in the world and not lift the trophy. Paris came very close to winning it, but it isn’t effortless. You have to be united, strong and united, and have a little luck sometimes, create that chance to win. It’s an exceptional competition and one that everyone wants to win. Paris is a team made to win, a powerful team. I come here intending to win and help the club to achieve its objectives,” he concluded.
