While Indian wrestling has been impressive during its commitments on Wednesday, it did suffer another heartbreak. Deepak Punia lost his 86kg semi-final clash to David Taylor of the United States of America.

It was an utter one-sided dominance from the American, who made it look elementary and smooth, as he notched up the win 10-0 through technical superiority. The Indian looked nowhere near to his best and wasn't comfortable at all wrestling Taylor.

Nevertheless, India still has something to cheer for, as Ravi Kumar Dahiya would be vying for gold in the 57kg on Thursday against reigning world champion Zaur Rizvanovich Uguev of Russia. He beat Oscar Tigreros of Colombia in the pre-quarters 13-2, followed by Valntinov Vangelov of Georgia 14-1 and Nurislam Sanayev of Russia 7-9 via fall.
