The Indian sailors are having a hard time in the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Thursday saw the men's skiff 49er being held, as the duo of KC Ganapathy and Varun Thakkar finished seventh in one of the two races held so far but is still lurking at the 17th spot overall.

Although the pair had finished 16th in the fifth race, they pulled off the seventh spot in the following. Along with the medal round, six more races are still to happen for the event at the Enoshima Yacht Harbour.

Meanwhile, Vishnu Saravanan finished 23rd overall in the laser event, claiming 138 points, while he had finished 27th and 23rd in the seventh and eighth race on Thursday. A couple of more races and the medal round remains.

Nethra Kumanan has a frustrating outing in the women's laser radial, as she is placed 31st with 176 points, having finished 27th and 28th in Races 7 and 8. It is unclear if she would be able to compete in the medal round.
