India's women's hockey team has gone almost a similar path that of its men's team. On Wednesday, it had lost its semi-final clash to Argentina 1-2, thus ending its chances of a silver or gold medal.

However, it remains in contention for a bronze medal finish, as it takes on Great Britain on Friday. In the meantime, concerning news has emerged that Vandana Katariya's family in Haridwar has been subjected to harassment and casteist slurs.

According to ANI, following India's loss on Wednesday, a couple of people celebrated outsider Vandana's family home in Hardiwar by bursting crackers. While her brother Chandrashekhar Kataria lodged a complaint with the Sidcul police station in charge, a person was arrested for bursting the crackers, while SHO Lakhpat Singh confirmed the same.

Vandana was a star during India's final group stage game against South Africa, scoring three goals. Consequently, she became the first Indian woman to score a hat-trick in the Olympics.
