Tokyo Olympics: India knocked out of men's archery team event by South Korea

The Tokyo Olympics 2020 had a poor outing for the archers, and it ended on a sour note on Monday. In the men's team event, the Indians were knocked out by South Korea in the quarters.

There was no respite for Indian archery in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. In the men's team event on Monday, the pair of Pravin Jadhav, Atanu Das and Tarundeep Rai succumbed to the challenge from South Korea.

It was an easy ride for the Korean pair Kim Je Deok, Kim Woojin and Oh Jinhyek. In the opening strike from the Koreans, they shot 29, while the Indians shot 28, followed by a 30 from the formers, as it claimed a couple of points.

In the next set, India shot 29 and 28, thus handing Korea another couple of points, who hit twin 59 in the two sets. The final set saw the Koreans striking 56, while the Indians fluttered with eights and nines, leading to inconsistency, as it was a smooth sail for the formers.

Earlier, during the day, India had beaten the Kazakhstan trio of Abdullin Ilfat, Gankin Denis, and Mussayev Sanzhar 6-2 in the pre-quarters. It marked the end of India'sarechery campaign at the Games this term.
