Tokyo Olympics 2020: Paddler Sharath Kamal Achanta wins thrilling round 2 match
Sharath Kamal Achanta won the match in 49 minutes. His next match will be against Ma Long of China, who is rated as amongst the world's biggest table tennis players.
Indian paddler Sharath Kamal Achanta defeated Tiago Apolonia of Portugal in the second round match of men's table tennis singles category at Tokyo 2020.
Achanta bounced back after losing the first game 11-2.
He made a strong comeback after losing the first game to win two games in a row to win the second and third games 11-8.
Tiago squared off the game, winning the fourth game 11-9. However, in the fifth round, Achanta gave his opponent no chance and took the lead once again with an 11-6 win.
The sixth game between Sharath and Apolonia was a very tough fight. There was a fierce battle between the duo for one point each. In the end, winning the game 11-9, Sharath Kamal won the match in 49 minutes.
His next match will be against Ma Long of China, who is rated as amongst the world's biggest table tennis players.
