Sandesh Jhingan signs up for Croatia's HNK Sibenik
Sandesh Jhingan is an Indian defender who played in the Indian Super League last season for ATK Mohun Bagan. He becomes the first Indian to feature in Croatian top-tier club football.
India defender Sandesh Jhingan has created history by becoming the first Indian to enter Croatia's top-tier club football. He would be playing for HNK Sibenik in the Prva HNL, moving from ATK Mohun Bagan.
"We are very happy that Sandesh is with us. We know he will help us achieve the goals that we have set for ourselves during the season. His stint here will help him grow as a player and person," said Sibenik head coach Mario Rosas in a release.
"We hope that he will continue to be an example for Indian footballers. He has demonstrated his ambition and competitiveness by wanting to get out of his comfort zone and show what Indian footballers are capable of," he added.

The 28-year-old Indian has been playing in the Indian Super League since its inception in 2014. While he began with Kerala Blasters, he has had short stints in a couple of I-League clubs during this phase. Although he played for Bengaluru FC in 2017, he moved to ATK Mohun Bagan last season.
With an experience of 172 games, Jhingan would come in handy for Sibenik, besides also having five goals under his belt. He has also played 40 international matches for India and scored four goals. He has won a couple of titles, besides finishing as runner-up on three occasions in the ISL.
