For his performance in the first ODI, former England captain Nasser Hussain compared Kohli with Cristiano Ronaldo. Hussain stated that Kohli is the Ronaldo of cricket. How apt was Hussain when decided to compare Ronaldo and Kohli?
Few days ago, Kohli had said in an interview that he idolises Ronaldo because of his achievements on and off the field. The journey of the Portuguese superstar is somewhat similar to his and therefore Kohli admires Ronaldo.
However, Kohli had also stated that he likes Messi and the Argentine legend has also achieved a lot in life but he Ronaldo is a touch above any other player currently.
Ronaldo enjoyed a stupendous 2016 as he lifted the Euro Cup for Portugal, Champions League with Real Madrid, won the Ballond’Or, FIFA Player of the Year and UEFA Best Player in Europe awards.
Kohli too had an outstanding 2016 in terms of runs. He topped the list in all the three formats and turned himself into run-scoring beast.
The second ODI will be played at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on January 19 and England will have to come prepared for King Kohli yet again.
